F Series Notes
This page is a companion to my book “A Collector’s Guide to the Fabulous “F” Series”. Here you will find copies of the Manuals and Brochures mentioned throughout it’s pages and corrections and notes concerning the text and photographs.
This book is a snapshot of my knowledge at a point in time but after publication the learning continues and the depth of my collection grows. Maybe a Second Edition someday but in the meantime, this will have to do. If I find errors in the book or new information not in the book it will be recorded here

This page is intended for owners of my book although if you have just stumbled upon it, you are welcome. I fear that not much here will make sense unless you are reading my book and have it to refer to.

Amendments and Notes

New F-1 Variations: I made a mistake in not creating a Heading for New F-1 Variations. In addition to the Olympic Commemorative I have come across a listing on E-bay for the F-Rb which is an ophthalmology camera and will not function like a photographic camera. It pairs with a Power Winder CR4-FN. I have images from E-bay but no permission to use them.

FD Signal Pins – The diagram on this page should mention the term “FD Signal Pins” as refering to all of the pins on the back of an FD lens. These need protecting which is why Canon has rear lens caps. Should be mentioned in the Index.

Under the FD Lenses we should mention the EE Lock Pin, called the AE Lock Pin on FDn lenses, which is the button on the Aperture Control Ring that is pressed to move the lens onto or off the Auto Setting. Both terms should also be added to the Index.
