They have always been great hosts and this evening was no exception. Joe and Jimmy worked the BBQ and I set up to take the picturesthat are posted here.<\/p>\n It was an Italian Wine night and we began with a delightful fruity rose prosecco. I am usually not a fan of prosecco but this was really a nice wine. It was slightly sweet and had an excellent flavour. A great start.<\/p>\n With dinner Jimmy brought out a 2013 Flaccianello della Pieve which was really unique. From Panzano which is a town in the Commune of Greve, it is not a Chianti although it is from the center of the Chianti region of Tuscany. It was a treat! One of the best I can remember!<\/em><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.20.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_font_size=”19px” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The meal was excellent and better. The steaks Jimmy bought were incredible. With the really exceptional wine it was a meal to be remembered. We chose the date without realizing it was Jimmy’s birthday the day before but we figured it out in time and we brought a cake for desert, which we managed to eat in great slices!\u00a0<\/p>\n After dinner we retired to the basement where we watched music videos and got into Jimmy’s cognac. Needless to say, walking to Jimmy’s was a good idea. And walking home was an even better idea as things turned out. And it proved to be be even more challenging. As it turned out, Christina and Susan came over to pick us up. Christina drove Joe home and Susan and I walked home. It was a great evening all around.
