Canon Model VL
Your camera would appear to be a Model VL. It has the following distinguishing features:
- No Model Name on Camera
- Top Shutter Speed 1/1000th
- Has a Slow Speed Dial
- Top Slow Speed 1/30
- Has a Self Timer

There is a small lot of 22 made in 1956 and then the rest were between the dates above. It is all a bit esoteric so refer to Dechert for more information.
This is the first Canon with metal shutter curtains. It is actually an L1 with the metal curtains and a self timer activated through a front lever. With fewer than 5500 produced it is somewhat rare today.
